ABOUT ELLA

I let art flow throughout my life.

Everything I do is connected with creativity, I used to think that rationality

should be the sole part of my work. I had to let it go, because it is the sensuality that

makes my work more alive. To do this, I allow myself to be fragile and leave

behind the artificially cultivated attitude of adhering to restrictive social norms.

My original long-term art studies took place during the Soviet period, and I am

grateful for the wide range of academic knowledge gained there, even through is

suffocating restrictions. Studying for a bachelor's degree in London shaped my creative

expansion.

My artistic spirit revolves around two contradictory elements; freedom and control.

The duality pushes me to realise the fragmented nature of my reality, which channel to

express in my art.

The human body and its complexity is my canvas for my artistic expression. The

complexity of the body's movements has always given me transparency, while the human

psyche carries a chaotic unpredictability to my work; The combination of both the

physical and mental is what gives the narrative and meaning in my work.

I best illustrate these features through my utilisation of colour, light, shape and

movement to create the illusion of three-dimensionality and a sense of the viewer's own

presence in my artwork.
